Denise Krammer is Brazilian singer and songwriter. Originally from the middle-west of Brazil, Denise moved to Rio de Janeiro, in order to take her Bachelor studies at UNIRIO, Brazilian’s most recognized faculty for Brazilian Popular Music. Integrating an exchange semester in Sweden, she graduated in 2013 with great honors. In Rio, she discovered the Samba and fell in love with it.
In 2013 she moved to Cologne (Germany) and in 2015 she completed the Master of Music at HfMT (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz) with highest grade, with a project about Samba and Brazilian Music.
Denise Krammer’s musical style ranges from the ORIGINAL SAMBA CARIOCA (with classics from Zeca Pagodinho, Beth Carvalho, Dona Ivone Lara, Arlindo Cruz) to the BOSSA NOVA (the well known sound of Tom Jobim, João Gilberto, Baden Powell) and MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), with influences of names like Elis Regina, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Lenine, Roberta Sá, Maria Rita. Her repertoire includes still FORRÓ (the Brazilian north-eastern music) and a touch of Jazz and Blues, that she learned living abroad.
In Cologne, Denise Krammer founded the “Roda de Samba do Alemão”, a monthly occurring Samba session with the traditional Samba line-up. As vocal leader and with the help of her fan base travelling in from all over Germany, Denise is known as the Voice of Samba, bringing with her the special atmosphere from the night clubs of Rio de Janeiro to the Rhine.
Denise Krammer performs solo (voice & guitar), in different Duo and Trio combinations and with her complete Band. In 2019 she releases her newest Album "Brasileirinha", with 10 of her compositions, produced in Rio de Janeiro by André Muato and played by outstanding musicians of Rio’s samba scene.
