Denise Krammer is Brazilian singer/songwriter, living in Cologne, Germany. She studied Música Popular Brasileira (MPB) and Songwriting in Rio de Janeiro, Jazz and Composition in Sweden and made her Master of Music at Musikhochschule Köln (Germany). Denise currently teaches Brazilian Music at University of Hildesheim.
Being a Samba specialist, Denise worked as jury member at Rio's traditional carnival parade for many years and even performed with the “Grande Dame of Samba” Beth Carvalho. In Germany, she founded a traditional “Roda de Samba” and established the concert series “Samba im Hof” and “Kölsch meets Samba”. Her concert program “Brazilian Journey” leads through Brazilian music genres, rhythms and dances, accompanied by German comments on mentality and lifestyle of the people.
Denise performs solo and with different bands. She played live at the German national TV station “WDR”, performed as main act at the Koblenz International Guitar Festival, played for Cologne Philharmonics, at the Frankfurt Book Fair and at several festivals.
Since March 2020, Denise appears regularly on Brazilian Radio with her show “Conexão MPB” (Radio “Nossa FM”, São Paulo).
Denise was awarded Germany’s Best Latin Singer and her album “Coisa Linda” won numerous prizes.
